2. Categories of data
- Identity/contact: name, company, country and email.
- Account: user ID, membership tier, login/session data.
- Transactions: subscription status and payment-provider references; WiseTurk does not store full card numbers in its forum data store.
- Content: forum posts, replies, support, appointments and proposal requests.
- Technical/analytics: page views, device/language, approximate country, security logs and cookie choices.
3. Purposes
Data may be processed to create accounts, manage subscriptions, deliver services, answer requests, moderate and translate forum content, secure the service, prevent abuse, comply with law and send marketing communications where consent is required.
4. Legal bases
Depending on context, processing may rely on contract performance, legal obligations, legitimate interests or consent. Mandatory rights cannot be waived by contract.
5. Payments
Payments may be handled by a third-party payment provider. WiseTurk may retain plan/status/provider references but should not store full payment card data in its own application data files.
6. Forum and automated translation
Forum content may be translated using external AI/translation providers. Do not post passwords, confidential credentials, special-category personal data, trade secrets or information you are not authorised to disclose.
7. Newsletter
Marketing/newsletter emails are based on the applicable consent or lawful basis. Users can unsubscribe; limited records may be retained where needed for compliance or proof.
8. Cookies and analytics
Strictly necessary technologies may support sessions and security. Optional analytics/marketing technologies should operate subject to consent where legally required. The public visitor dashboard does not publish IP addresses and masks page paths with anonymous short codes.
9. Service providers and transfers
Hosting, payment, email, security, analytics and translation vendors may process data only as required for their role. Appropriate safeguards should be used for international transfers where applicable.
10. Retention
Retention depends on purpose, subscription/service relationship, legal retention duties and dispute needs. Data no longer required should be deleted, anonymised or access-restricted.
11. Security
Controls may include password hashing, access restrictions, CSRF protection, rate limiting, protected data directories and backups. No internet system can guarantee zero risk.
12. Your rights
